what is an enough moment?

Over the last several years, as I’ve shared about our debt-free journey, I’ve been asked a variety of questions which I decided to make a series of posts out of …

One of the questions posed by a friend was in reference to having shared my story, especially the ‘enough moment’ that set our #debtfreejourney in motion.

So … what exactly is an ‘enough moment’?

An ‘enough moment’ is that turning point – something that happens that makes you say ‘enough, this has got to change.’ It could also be referred to as hitting rock bottom.

For some, changes begin to happen quickly – for others, it takes time. Mindset plays a huge role in how each person processes and makes changes.

This just doesn’t apply to finances. It applies to health matters, whether you stay with a job, or for some, admitting that they need help to beat an addiction.

Financially – the moment that causes them to say enough could be the inability to pay a bill, buy groceries or a gift, or an emergency that they cannot find a way to cover. It ultimately leads to sitting down and reviewing where all funds are going each month, then finding ways to curb spending, cutting expenses that aren’t necessary, and selling things to help build an emergency fund or to pay towards bills.
